Reading at LGHS

     Reading is a priority at LGHS. All 9th and 10th grade students are placed into reading  classes based on their individual academic needs. We offer a four-tiered approach for iintervention. Intensive instruction through SRA or Read 180 is provided for those students who need to make significant progress in reading. Students on grade level take supportive reading classes that emphasize reading in the content areas. Students who already read well above grade level are given enrichment through honors and AP level courses that incorporate reading strategies. Eleventh and twelfth grade students in need of intervention as evidenced by approved assessments are also assigned to Intensive Reading classes.
