Chapter Focus - George Jenkins High
FCCLA at George Jenkins High School is strong and proud. Their first project this year was a September 11th Remembrance. The September 11th Banner being displayed in the pictures, was created by the members of the George Jenkins High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America in 2002. This year it was displayed at the September 5, 2008, GJ Football game during the National Anthem and on the morning of September 11 for the school to have time for reflection. It has been and will continue to be presented each year by the GJ FCCLA members to create remembrance and to help our school and community understand the magnitude of our country’s loss. George Jenkins High School FCCLA elected officers in the spring for the 2008 – 2009 school year and currently has 87 members. The club is looking forward to a great time this year with their special projects for Veterans Day, Pumpkin Rolling, Puppy Love, United Way, Teacher Appreciation, Thanks Giving Baskets, Cookie Dough Sales, Boo-Boo Bunnies and of course participation in the Proficiency and Star Competitions Events! Sponsors are Merri Elson, Brenda Doss and Pam Shanahan.
