Gause FCCLA Students Help "ConKerr" Cancer
Gause FCCLA Students
FCCLA culinary students at Gause Academy presented a contribution check to Carol Deloney, area volunteer coordinator for ConKerrCancer.Org. Gause academy culinary students made hand-poured chocolates to sell in novelty shapes such as long-stemmed roses, to raise funds for the ConKerr cancer organization to purchase fabric to make pillowcases for children suffering from cancer in area hospitals.

Gause Academy FCCLA plans to continue to support ConKerr cancer with fund-raising and by making pillowcases for children in area hospitals. Conkerr cancer distributes approximately 300 pillowcases a month to area hospitals for children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. To donate cotton fabrics or funds for this cause, please contact at Gause Academy of Leadership and Technology in Bartow.

KHS Students Lend a Hand to the Children's Homes

Students from Kathleen High School in Lakeland raised money from other students at their school to buy movie tickets for the kids that live at the Lakeland campus of the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes. Karen Kilday, faculty advisor for the group said that her students wanted to do something for the community by helping children who were less fortunate than themselves. “They chose the Children’s Homes because they are in our community. The kids at the Children’s Homes go to our school and our students relate to them as fellow teenagers." For more information about KHS FCCLA and the Culinary Operations Program Click Here.
