Winter Haven High - Alzheimer's Awareness
FCCLA members recently conducted an FCCLA Alzheimer's Awareness week at Winter Haven High School. Students were encouraged to donate funds for the "Penny for your Thought's" campaign. During lunch, students had the opportunity to purchase purple Alzheimer's Awareness bracelets and paper Forget-Me-Not flowers which could be personalized with a loved ones name. Additionally, students created and delivered quilts to Alzheimer's patients living in local nursing homes.

KHS Students Lend a Hand to the Children's Homes
KHS students presenting a check to Florida Baptist Children's Homes Students from Kathleen High School in Lakeland raised money from other students at their school to buy movie tickets for the kids that live at the Lakeland campus of the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes. Karen Kilday, faculty advisor for the group said that her students wanted to do something for the community by helping children who were less fortunate than themselves. “They chose the Children’s Homes because they are in our community. The kids at the Children’s Homes go to our school and our students relate to them as fellow teenagers."
